In the past I thought an electric kettle was unnecessary like an electric can opener but man alive, This thing heats up water SO much faster than an old fashioned kettle or pot on the stove and then keeps it hot for a while, I wish it would automatically turn off when you pick the kettle up like my old electric kettle so I'm knocking off one star

After you boil water OPEN LID FIRST THEN POUR VERY CAREFULLY !!! The lid on this kettle is NOT stable and will suddenly burst open when you are pouring boiling water, For a relatively cheap kettle, Invest in a higher quality kettle
